Q: As a woman in business what would you say is the number one cause of your success.

‘As a woman in business the number one cause of my success is my belief in myself. Along with that, I work at making my dreams a reality and thrive on being professional, especially when engaging with people. I love to learn. Growing and constantly developing is important.’

Q: I understand you have authored your first book, can you tell me a bit more about this.

‘Yes, I self published my first book, titled Karadaaa!!! It was released towards the end of 2015. It’s a collection of my poetry, stories and songs written and created since my teens until now my thirties. It includes writing in both Afrikaans and English. It is being received well. I sold a good number of books so far. I am just thankful that people are open to and supporting my work. I’m also being invited to various events for example Etymotic Mondays, Franschhoek Literary Festival and to the upcoming Open Book Festival in September, to name a few. These are great platforms to showcase my book. I am very positive about this step I took to finally release my writing in this format and I’m proud. Now people can see me perform these works and they can leave with a copy of my book to continue reading it. I am very passionate about reading and therefore encourage people to read. It is the best gift to give yourself or someone else…a book.’

Q:What are you passionate about?

‘Furthermore I am very passionate about human engagement and development. I believe we are all connected and placed together on earth to help, teach and heal each other. I am also passionate about my art namely music, poetry, storytelling and theatre performances. So whenever I am expressing in these forms, I do it wholeheartedly, with respect for my gifts and talents and to the audiences. My family is very important to me, so I value all our time spent together (with love and passion).’

Thank you for reading! Don’t forget to support local and buy a copy of Karadaaa!!! You can purchase your copy of Karadaaa at the Book Lounge in Cape Town or at the Open Book Festival .
